Cleaning Modeling Tools

Post by Glorfindel »

Just wondering what guys use to clean their tools. Glues, adhesives, paints and such sometimes cake up on surfaces of cutting blades, handles, files, tweezers and the like. Simple Green/ammonia/alcohol, what are you using? Methods?

I find acetone is the best for most adhesives like epoxy and CA.
I am fearful when I see people substituting fear for reason

Another vote for acetone here and lighter fluid. To clean files of resin or metal i use a small brass suede brush and when they're clean some pool cue chalk rubbed onto the file will help prevent re clogging.
