Beginner Lighting Guide

Post by Bailey-Z-Kerr »

Hi
I have several Star Trek model kits (1/1400 AMT Enterprise-E, Revell Voyager and 1/537 AMT Reliant) that I got for my Christmas. I am eager to build them but I want to build them with lights but i know virtually nothing about how to do so, I know where to get them (Maplin) but not what to buy. What would be most helpful is if someone could go on to Maplin and post links to the things I need to buy on the forum. I don't think it would be too time consuming as I imagine they'll all use similar LEDs.
Finally does anyone know of a video guide of how to install them?

Thanks for taking the time to read this, any help is appreciated.

You might check in the on line build section of the main site .

Trekman Scott has done several lighting how too's in there for trek kits. He's around too for follow up questions. Though there maybe some lag now-a-days as he's gone crazy and gone back to school and getting a Masters degree ;)

Based on my own experiences getting into model lighting a few short years ago, these Light Packs are designed especially for the newbie just starting.

After getting back into the hobby five years ago, I started Modeler's Brand last year to help folks like us out.

I ship worldwide.
Send me a note anytime, BZK. I'm happy to answer all questions I can!

Well allow me to toot my horn as well Tom!

Madman Lighting offers over a dozen kits based on our easy to use pre-assembled Delux-24 LED controller card.

Here: www.madmanlighting.com

and here: www.youtube.com\MadmanLighting

Yes, we ship to the UK. Heck, I'll ship to Mars if someone can tell me how and is willing to pay the freight.

Our stuff is the easiest LED lighting system for modelers. A fully assembled and tested controller card drives up to 24 LEDs in any color. Fiber optics is included in most kits. All our instructions are available online in our downloads section so you know exactly what you're getting before you buy.

What you want is our Starship Lighting kit, possibly with our Dual Photon Torpedo kit for a little action.

Thanks!
