i have never light up a model before and am going ot try it on a DS9 model. i have been poking around the fourms and posts and think i have a basic understanding on how to do this. but i am having a hard time finding afordable FO and LEDs, i have been to Radio shack for lights. but its a long drive for me to one and wanted to find something online. also i googled to find FO and found www.thefiberopticstore.com/ has anyone ordered from them?

Yes, iv ordered from the fiber optics store. For a $1 they will send you a sample pack. Shipping is $5 otherwise.

I order my LEDs from Mouser.com where LEDs are 10-20 cents a piece or on eBay.

Don't buy from radio shack unless you need a quick part or you're super rich.

I can supply fiber optics too if you like. I have bundled 0.25mm (very fine), single strand 0.5mm, 1mm and 2mm.

I have also built the DS9 (aka the "Wheel of Pain) and can offer a lighting kit for it if you like.

There's also an article I wrote on how I did it, ask and I'll forward it to you.
