Model Master Primer too thick for 1/2500 scale?

Post by ulvdemon »

I have assembled the Enterprise E in 2500 scale and I belive the Model master primer was applied too thick. Even with one coat it seemed like it, but too be hoenst I wouldn't doubt that my applicationt echnique needs work and I but it on too thick.
Does anyone feel that it is too thick or shall I just go ahead and mark this under a "lesson learn" , strip it and start over?

More info here. Is the whole model primed too thick or is it thick in spots only? If it's thick in spots you can use an old brush and lacquer thinner to remove the thickened areas of primer. Brush it on and wipe off. You should know that this is slow and tedious process before you start. Can take days to do the entire model. What ever you do DO NOT LEAVE PUDDLED LACQUER THINNER ON THE MODEL!!! This will be aggressive at ruining the plastic underneath and it will bubble/bump up.

I like MM Enamel paints but I've long ago changed to using Tamiya Fine Primer. You will love this stuff.

Seems like the whole model is too thick, even after one coat. This is of course being sprayed straight from the can.
