Question about decals

Post by Ramsayman »

I'm usually pretty good at applying decals, but I've got a kit that my decals are across a lot of uneven surface - they looked good when they were wet they, but now that they've dried they've lifted and they're not going down into the dips. I didn't use a decal set, but I've been using a decal solvent after. Is there any way to make those pesky decals go down in those dips after they've been applied?

Try applying Solvaset over the lifted areas. It's a rather powerful solvent and I reserve it for stubborn decals.

Do you have a nice gloss coat to apply the decals over?

Okay, I'll try to pick some up tomorrow. Yeah, they were applied over a gloss - but it was a gloss finish color, not a clear gloss. I've never had trouble with this before.

You can use a sharp x-acto blade to poke holes in the bubbles, allowing the Solvaset to wick down under the decals.
I speak of the pompatous of plastic.
