Building a turn table for painting

Has anyoen built a turn table for use for painting? More or less something like a lazysusan(SP) Silly name I know. Just wondering if anyone has tackled this as a small project, since I am looking to build a big size one for holding my ERTL Falcon so I can paint it with a minimum of a fuss.
Current build: 1/32 Hasegawa F6F-5 Hellcat

Completed: 1/48 Hasegawa F-16CM<,1/48 Revell Mig-21PFM, 1/48 Revell/Monogram AH-64A, Revell/Monogram 1/48 F-14D, AMT 1/420 USS Defiant, AMT 1/650(?) USS Enterprise, 1/72 Bandai VF-1J, AMT 1/537 USS Reliant, Academy 1/35 M1-A1 Abrams, Academy 1/48 F-86F30, Linbergh's USS Gato

The clear ones look like something I could use for the final display. the metals ones look great for building the paint stand. thanks for the information. As for IKEA, one a couple of towns over, but doubt I can get a chance to go there anytime soon. Thanks everyoen for the information.

Heck, why not just head for the nearest Target and pick up a lazysusan or check the local thrift stores???

I picked up a cheep one at my local dollar store and it's been serving my paint booth well for several years.

Plan was to pick up a cheap one. Just sometimes I get the urge to actually have to build something. Weird I know.... :)

I use a Cake decorating table. Rotates and has a slight tilt, makes ABing easier. They do come in different sizes.

Works for me but than the biggest model I got right now is the 1/500 Yamato.

Was there a few weeks ago and as soon as I saw it I thought: Paint Booth! Works great and pretty cheap too...

Still having trouble using turntable for painting. What speed should I be using? 33, 45 or 78?
