Dull coating doesn't have to be painful!

I've just discovered Liquitex acrylic matte varnish and suddenly I don't dread doing dull coats on my models. I really hated using the lacquer based Testors stuff because the fumes were horrific and cleanup was a lot of work. I found myself avoiding kits with decals just to avoid having to dull coat.
But I recently saw the Liquitex varnish at Michaels and decided to give it a try. It's great stuff; it applies with a brush, cleans up with water, dries quickly and has no fumes. I haven't tried airbrushing it yet, but I'll bet it works just as well.

It's good stuff. I use it with their airbrush medium and fluid medium in my Iwata. I also really like J. W. ETC's Matte Varnish thinned with water and denatured alcohol. I don't have my paint bible here at the office, but there is a thread floating around in here with the formula I use for thinning.
