Bending brass rod stands

Post by scaddude »

Any suggestions on bending brass rods to hold up my resin kit? Need a couple right angles on a single rod.

An angle gauge (measuring helps, in many cases), and if you need many specimen of the same stuff, build a simple pattern model made from a piece of wood and some nails?

If you have to use pliers use smooth jawed or padded ones.

You might try acrylic rod. I used that on my F-302 :

It took some practice to get it right, but I held it over an open flame, far away enough not to make it start bubbling, then bent it to what I needed. The tricky part was the second bend, keeping it in the same plane as the first.
