Question on the Moebius J2 lighting kit...

In the mobius J2 lighting kit there is a set of wires that comes of the power jack assembly and is labeled for battery pack. Personally, I would love to run the set off a battery pack and maybe hide it in the space pod bay, and using that hatch to access the batteries. That being said, the instructions give no guidanceon how to do it. My questions are: 1) Is a battery powerful enough to run the set (such as a nine volt) for any length of time. 2) How would you connect it? There is a red piece of plastic resembling a power connector, however, no nine volt clip or battery box.
