Spraying Tamiya Flat

Does anyone spray Tamiya flat with just Tamiya thinner? Details please - techniques, results, tips, warnings? I've been spraying Tamiya Flat thinned with Future for a few years now and it never fails to provide a consistent perfect finish. But it takes like half the jar of flat to null out all that glossy Future.

The flat from Tamiya is just a flattening agent. It has to be added to a carrier of some kind to work.

Spraying just the flat base is generally a disaster. It covers it with a white snowy layer that is hard to strip off again.

Thanks. I thought it was meant to be thinned and sprayed like any paint color.

Here are formulas for mixing Tamiya Flat Base with "Future"* to create different effects:

1 part flat base to 3 parts Future = very flat
1 part flat base to 10 parts Future = flat
1 part flat base to 15 parts Future = satin

Now that you mention it , I think I recall something like that. But it always seems to take more.
