Like Donkey Kong, I presume.
Building Science Fiction models is NOT weird. Falling in love with the e-surance girl, that's weird. Not that I would know anything about that.

Any teams looking for a member?
For those who don't recognize the "handle" I have been on the board for a while and have attended several Iron Modelers.
One team I was on won Best Use of Greeblies in 2012.
I have the "entry fee" ready to bring with me.
Just reply or PM me.

I tried to "register" on the Wonderfest web site and I would not let me leave the Team name blank.

Are there any rules about forming teams? Especially teams made from disparate "alternate" people? I'm on the alternate list--or whatever it's called--but maybe those of us unaffiliated types could get something going.

Thoughts, anybody?

BGuy,

As far as I know there are no restrictions on forming teams.
Since you and I are both looking to participate and a minimum teams is is 2, Looks like we have a team if that is OK with you.
If you are OK with it I will sign up the team with the name Starfury Pilots.
If you have a better idea for a name I am open.
Let me know and I will use that.

I have been to several Iron Modelers and they are great fun.
Look forward to meeting you.

I was going to suggest that since there's a team called "Rebel Scum" we call ourselves "That other kind of scum; you know, the stuff that gets around the edge of the sink and takes forever to scrub off?", and then demand our name be listed right after theirs. The judges would have to read our name in full every time they got on the P/A or whatever.

Glorious.

Love it.
I couldn't get a confirmation of the registration.
Messages OneZero, no reply yet.
I will try to register with the new name now.

Cool. If you have a chance while registering, maybe make clear that we are open to other people joining.

Was just reading over the rules and apparently we owe an "entry fee" of a box of parts to donate. I'm travelling internationally by train for the better part of two weeks all over the US before the event so hauling a shoebox of random parts (and explaining this to border guards) wouldn't work out.

Are you able to scrounge up some parts to cover this? I'll buy you a drink at the event.

BGuy,

No problem, if you check my first post in this topic I already have a big bag of parts for the "entry fee".
Also I am driving so bringing them is no issue.
I might still take you up on the drink :D

Starting to pack, getting excited.

See you (sort of) soon.

Awesome.

Btw, I'm personally open to another person joining the team if you're out there. There's still time.

I posted on the Facebook page, I’ll have counter mats for everyone again this year. I just need them back after the fiasco.
