I accidentally got a can of Tamiya PS spray paint for Lexan instead of the regular spray. The Tamiya literature says this should not be used on plastic models, but doesn't say why. I suspect maybe it melts the plastic. I was wondering if it would be safe to use on resin?
I tried painting a test piece, and it seems OK, but I have no idea how it will behave long-term. I'm working on the Samurai Monkey Tachikoma kit, which is made from a somewhat flexible resin, so the flexibility of the PS paint might be a benefit; however, I don't want the finish to end up going to pot in the future.
Anyone have experience with this stuff?
Tamiya PS spray on resin?

Should be OK on resin. When they say "don't use this on plastic model kits" they're almost always talking about injected moulkded styrene kits, which react badly to "hot" paints by crazing, or developing surface etching and/or wrinkles. To be safest, always try the paint out on a scrap part...
