Any cheapo mold release that will prevent rtv to rtv bonding when making two part molds?

Dilute some vaseline in naptha (zippo fluid) then brush it on and let it sit until the naptha evaporates, then pour yer rubber. It does tend to dry the rubber out, and SmoothOn frowns on it, but it works. I use Mann's 800 release, great stuff and lasts a good while per can.

I tried Pam cooking spray but alls I got were "masters" buried alive in small purple rubber tombs.

Obviously I messed up somewheres.

I'll try the vaseline.

I'm grateful for the advice.

I've used vaseline and turpentine for my little experiments. Nothing scientific about my method.

I hope this helps.

vaseline and waz and grease remover. Dissolve some Vas. in a jar, and then brush the liquid on. Works like a charm!

Vaseline or...

Crystal Clear works great when you're desperate and doesn't go on globby like the vaseline... Never had a problem yet.... Silicone doesn't need an actual release between itself, just a barrier...

I've used a mixture of about equal parts of Johnson's Baby Oil and talcum powder with a drop of dishwashing detergent. Shake it well, brush it on and let it dry. It works fairly well.
