Gray foam?

Got a question about techniques, materials or other aspects of physically building a model? This is the place to ask.

Gray foam?

Post by rekwos »

Hi All:

I've noticed that some modelers are working in a gray foam. How easy is to carve and what is the trade name so I can search for local distributors?

Thanks!

Balsafoam is probably the most commonly available product.
Renshape is another, commercial type.
Carve-it is another, but I don't remember who markets that.

It's pretty easy to carve, machine, saw etc. It will also sand very smoothly.
