phillips led x-mas lights

i got a hole bunch of these a wrote al the stuff down to calculate a resistor and then i went and lost it.

so do any of you people have the forward voltage, forward current and what not to calculate a resistor?

You can use The LED Calculator for single or multiple LEDs.

As for forward voltages, I borrowed these from the LED calculator:

Forward voltages (in volts):

Code: Select all

IR                    1.5
red                   2.0
orange                2.0
yellow                2.1
green                 2.2
true green            3.3
blue                  3.3
white                 3.3
UV                    3.3
blue &#40;430 nm&#41;         4.6

Current (in mA) is going to depend on the LED, but typically they're 20mA or less.

i was going to use the led calculator you mentioned. but i got to the web site and realisedi had no clue where the info was.

I've gone and hung a meter on the Forever Bright and Phillips LEDs from Christmas light strings and figured the voltage from the resistance necessary to drive the LEDs at 20 mA ( 0.020 Amps ).

Results:
BLUE LEDs (both) - 3.6 Volts at 20 mA
WHITE LEDs (both) - 3.6 Volts at 20 mA
GREEN LEDs (Forever) - 3.6 Volts at 20 mA
RED LEDs (Forever) - 2.8 Volts at 20 mA
ORANGE LEDs (Forever) - 2.8 Volts at 20 mA
YELLOW LEDs (Forever) - 2.8 Volts at 20 mA

I didn't get any other Phillips strings... sorry! But they're probably the same as the Forever Brite ones.
