Cobalt Blue?

Post by armentage »

Can anyone suggest a good mix of Tamiya colors to create "Cobalt Blue" ? I see it reference in many Japanese kits. Most of these kits are color with Gunze Sangyo color numbers. Unforetunately, Tamiya does not make an exact match, and I haven't been able to find any good color mix to represent it. (Actually I don't know what it would look like at all)

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am painting my WAVE 1/24 Tachikoma kit, and would like a nice shade of blue, and Cobalt Blue is 60% of the color mix WAVE recommends.

Apple Barrel acrylics makes a Cobalt Blue paint. It's a very sci-fi-ish color. Also, it's a widely available tube color in many acrylic and oil tube paints.

I don't know if it helps or not, but the color can be had from the local Wal-Martery for 44 cents.
