Just out of curiosity. Can wall spackle be used to fill in seams? :?

I saw an F-14 conversion in Finescale Modeler where a guy used it to fair in leading edge antenna fairings. IT worked. What I would do, if I had to do itm would be to varnish it with a thin layer of superglue and sand IMMEDIATELY.
