Got a question about techniques, materials or other aspects of physically building a model? This is the place to ask.

Best site for supplies?

Post by ionic1000 »

I'm trying to find a good site that carries all the good painting and modeling supplies and I'm having a bad run of luck! Anyone have any suggestions

Needing:
Black CA
Mr. Primer
Some sort of dull clear coat
cans of air for air brush
Really good paint
Thinner of some sort

Also what is the ideal mix for thinner/paint no instructions with gun?

Starshipmodeler carries some of this stuff.

I've ordered from all, and they're good. The rattlecans are tricky, as they're hazardous and flammable.

Airbrushing a dullcoat - I really prefer Polyscale acrylic.

www.micromark.com for tools and supplies.

Wal-Mart for a lot of miscellaneous supplies (sandpaper, Future, Windex, super glue, X-Acto blades).

I hope this helps.

Tower Hobbies has a great selection of paint, tools & supplies at prices that are often lower than Squadron or Micromark.
