Tamiya spray booth - spares

Post by Lsutehall »

I've been using a tamiya spray-work booth since just after christmas, and am very happy with it. I'm in the uk, and so have been running it at 110 (ish) volts through a converter. I left if on for about an hour or so the other day, and it got seriously hot and stopped working. I opened it up just now looking for a thermal fuse or something, but there is only a motor.

Has anyone else experienced the same thing, or have any experience with Tamiya and spare parts?

Just for anyone who had the same problem, I have now fixed my booth. Turns out there was a thermal fuse WITHIN the motor windings. I peeled back the covering tape and replaced it with a 110 degree one from maplins - total cost: £0.63.

I'm happily back to spraying, after nearly a month of not being able to get on with anything!
