12v of power + 3v led = interesting smell in office!

it lit up for a second, but then no more, but we will see when I have to time to really work on it later.

Gotta love Friday the 13th.

Yeah, that'll happen. Roughly every half-volt increase in the voltage across the LED doubles the current through it. So that would kill a LED pretty dead, I expect.

And for approximated two seconds they were REALLY bright!

Good thing it was all just for testing. So I guess I need to pick up more so I can try again. 3 3v LEDs should be fine or should I get more?

12V= 4 LEDs usually. Many red LEDs are rated for 1.8V though. So you would need 6 LEDs in series at least with a resistor if you are using red. Most of the other colors, or white are around the 3.2V range usually, so 4 then. Check the specs for the LED.
