what paint for airbrush

Post by Matty1973 »

Hello all,

i am looking at a cheaper than rattlecan option for base coats of paint, my only model paint options in Perth are tamiya or testors.

i like the tamiya for the water clean up properties, however for $4.00 for a 30ml jar it isnt cheap when doing some of the bigger kits.

what could i use that i can buy over the net for larger quantities.

With an airbrush you have much greater control and lay much thinner coats of paint. Tamiya's don;t come thinned for airbrush so you get a bit more than just what's in the bottle.

If it's cheap you want then go no further than craft paints. Lt. Zombie here has a formula that works pretty damned well for converting craft acrylic paints into ones usable for scale modeling.
