using clear flat over enamel, how long to wait ?

using clear flat over enamel, how long to wait ?

I want to use model master clear flat to seal by enamel gloss brown J-2 floor, i painted it last night so almost 24 hours ago, how long must model master enamel paint cure/dry before clearcoating with model master clear flat ?

It's good to go, it's had plenty of time to dry enough. The clear is the same chemistry anyway.

Do mist coats, don't flood it on. Otherwise, spray at will dude.

thanks, glad to hear it :D it's been about 30 hours now and i wasn't sure about laquer over enamel so soon, but it's good to go then ? thanks !!!!!!

Here is a rule of thumb I always use when I paint with Laquers or enamels. I always make a sample card (read: sheet of styrene) with the colors that I am using. I paint it at the same time as the model so the card is drying at the same rate as the model. I then can test my clear coats etc. on a section of the card prior to applying to the model. That way if there is a negative reaction, the model is not ruined.

I generally allow 24-48 hours to dry prior to a clear coat.
