Flourescent Green

Post by Sci Fi Smoker »

Hey, guys, I'm looking for a flourescent green or bright green color to match Yoda's lightsaber. Can anyone recommend something?

I know Testors used to make flourescent colors, including a green that might be right. Dunno if they still make them, I haven't had a use for flourescents in a long time.

My local craft store has these beads which gave me another idea. The beads are painted/coated with safety reflector material (paint with tiny glass bubbles in it). When that stuff's flat, you kinda have to be at a narrow angle to the light source in order for it to shine, but on a curved surface it glows big time, no matter what your viewing angle (they look like they'de make killer eyes or ship's beacons). Maybe paint the blade with reflective safety paint, or wrap it in reflective tape, then hit it with a glossy green tint?

I've airbrushed a white coat in preparation for a bright green. Thanks for the input, since you're the only one here to provide it thus far, but reflective tape seems to be going beyond what I want to achieve. I just want to keep it simple. 8)
