This may be the wrong place but.... (future floor wax)

Who has used the Future Floor Wax trick to smoothe out flat finish paint jobs prior to decal application? I need to know what to use to thin it out for airbrush use and what ratio. Any assistance would be appriciated being this is for a Christmas gift project.

Future is very thin to start with...I use it straight from the bottle.

There's an announcement thread (sixth from the top) in this forum that will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about using Future.

For what it's worth, I airbrush it on without cutting it with anything.

Thanks for the link. I just dipped a windshield and did not blot it enough and now have a bit of a build up at the base...

May not be visable once the part is installed but I was wondering what would remove Future and now I know. Windex.

Yup, blot on lintless paper and place on some bits of sprue under a cover. That's what I do after dipping a canopy.

In my limited experience with the stuff, i 've discoered that it needs absolutely no thinning and what I did is boght a can of Badger Propel and snapped on the ultra basic testor's airbrush and it worked like a charm.

I've discovered that you need to be careful on white models as to how many coats you use as it does yellow with heavy coats.
