Resistor Question

Post by SDHLaw1701 »

Just a quick question. Can you wire a 330ohm 1/4 watt resistor with a 68ohm 1/2 watt resistor to make a 398ohm resistor? does the wattage difference cause a problem?
Thanks

Yes, that's entirely do-able

Hooking up resistors in series adds the resistance - no matter how many you hook up

The wattage issue is a non-issue - the wattage rating indicates how much power can go through the resistor safely - since LED's mostly require 1/4 watt, putting that 1/2 watt in there won't harm a thing
