Beginner's Guide to Polyurethan Model Building

Post by Someguy »

Sorry if this has been asked before. I tried the search function, I swear! :)

A few years back, I built a Starcrafts Classic Romulan, and it turned out...OK, I guess. I didn't know jack about sanding or decal set, or about a half-dozen other basics back then, so I bought a second one this weekend, hoping to do it right this time. That being said, I don't really know how to put it together correctly, and I'm hoping someone knows of a good guide for that type of kit. I remember I had to buy some kind of special glue...will normal Testors putty work for the seams? What kind of primer/paint should I use?

Is polyurethane also known as "resin"?

Polyurethane resin is the most common material used for garage kits.
