Got a question about techniques, materials or other aspects of physically building a model? This is the place to ask.

Stuff to 'grow' larger castings

Post by Merry Men »

A while ago I read something on a forum (it might be this one) about a product that you can use to cast a object from a mould and during curing the product either expands 50% or shrinks 50% (depending on the chosen type).

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Yes. Smooth-On has a product that advertises that method. A few people have tried it, and found not really suitable for modeling parts, more like busts and low-detail figurines.
So me, trying to be tolerant of everybody's situations, went to a feminist picnic. Things fell apart fairly quickly after nobody made any sandwiches.
