Re: Vinyl mask issues
but I'm going to pick up some rubber cement to as I feel that may be easier to rub off. Rubber cement has a rather different chemical for its solvent from what Elmers glue uses, be careful with how it interacts with the paint layer being covered. Thanks for the heads up on the rubber cement. I thin...

Re: Vinyl mask issues
Well, the kit is in the basement where I work right now, I do have a dehumidifier down there. Conditions here have been rainy and humid I'm afraid. I'm pretty sure the masks are pulling up because of the amount of paint I put on, I'm going from a darker color to a lighter one and I put more paint on...

Vinyl mask issues
Hopefully someone here can help me out with an answer to this issue. I'm currently working on a 1/1000 scale Enterprise-D model and I'm using vinyl masks of the Aztec pattern, I'm doing a four-color paint job and just added the second color to the kit. The problem is that now the paint has dried, an...

Thanks for all the reply's. I've decided to go with the pledge clear and for the decals I ordered Papilio decal laminate which they say to use with Papilio decals. Turkeyvolume it wasn't the Tamiya that didn't dry it was the Krylon crystal clear on my 1/1000 Saratoga model, after about a year and it...

As I mentioned above ;) , a model car I built several years ago, painted with Tamiya clear, shows no signs of yellowing. I have to ask is the model car White or a different color? it seems to me that the yellowing will be more noticeable on a White model. It's red, white, and blue. That is, white m...

If anyone has...

Thanks NCC1966 I can for sure fix the model by replacing all the aztek decals it's just a pain in the butt to do it over again after only a year and a half. Right now I'm thinking I'll order more ink and decal paper and print out all new decals instead of using the ones I had left over from last year.

Thanks

I actually removed some of the shrinking decals from my E-E today no paint on the underside of the decals. I used Tamiya Insignia White as my base coat and Krylon Acrylic color master gloss clear. Now I'm stuck replacing all the decals on this kit because the new decals look more grey in color like ...

The Enterprise-E ...

Hey guys I need some advice I've been using Papilio decal paper to print out the free decals here on the SSM site and the decals seem to be shrinking over time after they are on the model. At first I was thinking it was the clear coat I was using but both my Excelsior and Enterprise-E model also hav...
