Re: Mark Yungblut Has Passed

For those who never got to meet Mark, I feel sorta sorry for you. He was a great guy, always willing to share and even teach, as John mentioned above. He and Terry / "TER-OR" used to run demo's at WonderFest, and they were always well received and often packed to the point of SRO. Straight...

Can we get this thread moved to the "Construction" forum, please? That way it doesn't get auto-deleted and we lose the info from everybody?

Was out running errands at WallyWorld and had wanted to get some CA while I was out, 'cause holding one of those arms for the flight pods on my Atlantia build last night for about thirty minutes was a PITA. So, thought I'd check to see if they had the Gorilla Glue Super Glue and sho' 'nuff, they did...

BTW, a couple more things I've learned: * 70% Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol does indeed allow you to clean this up pretty easily. Leaves no residue on the area, provided you wipe it all off w/the Isopropyl. (as someone suggested) * This stuff is rather slippery for about 15 minutes after you put it down...

Phshaw! I don't play with my models in the bathtub! It's just what I've heard. Y'know. From a friend.... :P On a totally unrelated direction (based on a misreading of subject title)... What would be the distinguishing properties of a glue that would be sold under the "Gojira/Godzi...

No worries! Any input is appreciated. And you've told me of a related product I'd never heard of - Gorilla Tape! Sounds like you don't want to have someone use it on your posterior to tape those two halves together!

Thanks for all the responses, fellas! I appreciate it. Always great to get first-hand experience information on a product you're not sure about. And a special thanks to Robb for turning me on to this product! I'm just sort of ashamed to say that it took me all these years to actually buy it - even i...

Yes, I'm using the Regular version if their product. So far, no issues.

I'll definitely look to get some of the Super Glue version next time. It works well on Resin to resin? Resin to styrene?

Thanks, Rogviler! I appreciate the input!

Gorilla Glue Experiences?

I did a search in this forum and didn't see anything in the way of subject title and the first couple of threads that did pop up didn't have any mention of Gorilla Glue specifically, so I thought that I'd start a thread.... A couple of weeks back while at WallyWorld, I bought some Gorilla Glue on a ...

That's a new one to me - "odorless" CA, huh? Kewel! I'll also consider that, too! A couple of these agrodomes are going to be upside down so I want to make sure I don't have to worry about them falling off.

Thanks for the input, Dave. I appreciate it! I also got some advice via email - as I'd solicted a few folks - w/a couple of different suggestions. First I got from (JohnP, TER-OR and April Welles) was to dip all the clear parts in Future floor wax as this helps to minimize the crazing of the plastic...

Vac-Formed Clear Plastic To Resin Crazing Help

Looked thru here but didn't see anything w/a subject line related to this topic, soooo.... I'm working on a scratchbuild of an agroship inspired from "Battlestar Galactica" - both The Original Series (TOS) and The New Series (TNS). You can see pics here - BSG Inspired Agroship . Page Three...

Always use primer on a model.

Always.

That's what it sounds like your problem is. Strip it and start all over again.

Always use primer on a model.

Those old FXM kits are solid and extremely brittle, IIRC. If you try to drill them out to install lights, you'll likely have them shatter on you. As such, I'd say lighting those kits is impossible, tho have never tried it, so could easily be wrong. I guess you could try your hand at making molds off...

Memorial Day weekend, per the WonderFest Site. I'd like to respectfully suggest that you sign up for their mailing list. That, or at least check their site periodically. After about 1 Jan '05, they should start updating it fairly regularly with info for the upcoming event.
