Mark Yungblut Has Passed
Mark Yungblut -a good friend, generous teacher and stalwart of Wonderfest for .... ever - passed away last night, June 21st 2020. Apparently, the chemo did a great job on his cancer but unfortunately, his kidneys as well. That's all I know at the moment - I will share more as I learn it. Please keep Lisa and Alex in your thoughts.
I will sorely miss you, brother.

Condolences to his family and may he be at peace.
intent on building... but somehow i just end up collecting (full) boxes
Re: Mark Yungblut Has Passed
Met Mark on my visits to Wonderfest when I was able to get over. A real gentleman and knowledgeable modeller. Got to his clinics with Terry M a couple of times. Good times.
Thoughts with his family and his extended Modelling Mates family.

Ah man... my condolences to his family for their loss.

This is heartbreaking news. I just talked to him about six weeks ago too.

I didn't know him well, and our paths didn't cross much, but it is easy to see the quality of his character by the quality of his friends.
My condolences to his family and friends.

Re: Mark Yungblut Has Passed
It wasn't WonderFest until I could sit down and chat with him for a few minutes, or just sit back and listen to him talk about one of his latest builds.
Godspeed, Mark, and I'll see you on the other side someday.

Captain Pike: Don't make me laugh.
Commander Burnham: Fortunately for you, I was raised on Vulcan. We don't do funny.
Captain Pike: Ha! (ouch)
Commander Burnham: Maybe I should just shut up.
Math Problem: Sam has 100 model kits, Frank takes 10 model kits ... what does Sam have?
Answer: 100 model kits and a corpse.

Does his family need anything?
Never miss an opportunity to be a class act.

The unknown is only unknown until you know it. Ya know?
Re: Mark Yungblut Has Passed
WOW! I know that it's been a lifetime since I saw this forum last but quite a few things have changed in my personal life as well as professional. I really haven't devoted a lot of time to the forums but I hoped to come back since I have been saving up quite a few models for my collection. Mark was a real human being - I enjoyed a lot of his witticism and insight. He was usually one of the first people to tell you the honest truth without being biased. Not only is this sad but depressing news!! I didn't know that he had cancer again. I know in a private message that he said that he had it before but beat it. I didn't think that the next time I heard about him that he would be dead. It's already sad to hear about Carrie FIsher, and her mother dying but there have been quite a few in the industry to die as of late. It's even harder when it's someone that you know personally!
REST IN PEACE BROTHER! I hope that you get your wings in HEAVEN.

Re: Mark Yungblut Has Passed
For those who never got to meet Mark, I feel sorta sorry for you. He was a great guy, always willing to share and even teach, as John mentioned above. He and Terry / "TER-OR" used to run demo's at WonderFest, and they were always well received and often packed to the point of SRO. Straight shooter and "Noise Nazi" (WonderFest joke about Mark from the old Pool Party days).
The world is a little darker w/o him in it.
