Possibly. The issue would be the urathane foam gluing itself to the baloon rubber. Maybe build it in stages? Spritz a little wad of foam onto a sheet of paper, then after it's cured, tear the paper off and spritz a little more on the flat side. Lather, rinse, repeat, turning the wad of foam as you ...

If you want to just make one pour, then your best bet is to create a "butterfly" mold by cutting only halfway (or less), thereby keeping the mold intact with the ability to align and remove the casting once cured. I like this lazy 1 piece method for relatively small parts. I find it helps...

Silly putt doesn't leave residue. But it doesn't adhere all that well either. It's great for wheel wells and recessed areas. Also good for camo masking on armor etc. Yeah, it's not good for masking sharp panel lines and such, but as TER-OR points out, it works for camo schemes. Also, temperature ef...

Re: Micromark Resin

I've never used Micromark resin before untill today. I got CR-600. Is it soposed to be kind of soft after it has cured? I mean if I push on it with a finger nail it leaves a mark. Did I mix it wrong or is that what this stuff is like. That doesn't sound normal... It should be pretty firm and not ea...

Re: Hard to repaint a vinyl toy?

Is it hard to have a vinyl toy figure repainted? I saw this page so I thought with the right chemicals and paints it could be done, but I'm not having much luck finding anyone who can do it. http://www.starshipmodeler.com/basics/lj_vinyl.htm Is what I'm asking not possible? Thanks. I've repainted a...

I'm currently working on a large studio scale model, and wanted to try to cast some parts to cut down on not so much the cost, but on the wasted kits. I picked up the Micro Mark set. My first couple of casts came out as usual, sticky. I wiped out the mold with acetone, and I've been getting perfect...

spray disaster

Now we know, and knowing is half the battle. Wow, I don't use rattle-cans often, but I will be careful now. Likewise, I only use spray cans on rare occasions, but when I do I use the Tamiya cans. They give the finest spray finish that I've ever seen from a can. But even they are not humidity proof!!!
