yes, someone else had reccomended that to me, but i wasnt sure if it would work. is there an LEd that you recommend? it just needs to be white lights, and nothing more, though they should probably be more towards the yellow tint, than the blue, unless they are pure or close to pure white.

Brilliant idea, i actually started to think about casting it in a clear form, and then blocking out the other areas. i think that would work, but i still need a light source for it then. also to add tot he question, i was calculating the number of fiberoptic wires needed for the other windows and ca...

Help with lighting windows

Hello, recently i had begun working on a lighting plan for the Revell kit of the Republic Venator model. as i was doing so, i came across some windows that i dont know how i would light. to start with, something has to be removed, should it be just small parts and feed round fiber optics in, or shou...

That's a tuff one. There are some analog digital records out there. These are used most commonly by model railroad guys. The problem is that there is no way to directly up load audio to it, you are actually playing audio into and enabling the record feature. Radio shack had a miniature version of t...

sound circuit

Hello, does anyone know of a circuit plan/diagram, or a circuit that can be bought that is small and is able to upload a sound from somewhere. i would also need to handle rapid connection due to the fact of it being used for a DC-15. which is planned to coincide with the pulse of the LED, so it will...

that one looks good, do you use a ruler or straight edge on it, or are most of them done by hand?

well the model is 1/48 scale, so the cut should be about 0.5 mm deep, with that said, which tool that you listed would you recommend?

IC question

Hello, does anyone know of an IC chip that if hooked up correctly, can support 3 LEDs (call them A, B, and C). when it is turned on one optional pattern would be to go from A to B to C and back to A all in about 2.5 seconds. Also does anyone know of an IC chip that will dim an LED and then brighten ...

Have you compared a know good model 1/72 seat (say hasagawa) from say a F-14/15/16/18 against your scratchbuilt seat. Sometimes as you have discovered not all 1/72 are the same. sounds like a bummer after all of your work. Me I built a runabout interior using f-18 fighter seats, couldn't go wrong. ...

So what is the 1/48 scale model? Could be the scale is mis-represented, ie not 1/48? Some good suggestions to trying scaled pilot figures in the seat. the 1/48 model is a scratch model and parts are off by 1/46-1/52, so its not mis-represented, i scaled the design from the actual size so that it wo...

it looks too small in 1/48, however after looking at it for a few seconds, it's in scale, as for the 1/78 it is the correct size. They are actually the same design at both scales, that is why i found it so strange, though after thinking about it more, i might have adapted the seat in the 1/48 so tha...

Scale problem

Hello, I’m posting this to see if anyone has had a similar problem, or knows what the cause of the problem is. I had sculpted a cockpit seat for the AMT-ERTL Runabout Kit, which is 1/78 scale. Once this seat was complete it, I thought, why not see what it looks like in another model of mine, at 1/...

problem with led

i am working on lighting a ETA-2 interceptor and i have 2 5mm blue leds for the engines. i was testing one out connected to a 9 volt battery with a 330 ohm resistor, after about 30 seconds the light turned green, then yellow, and started to smoke. then it died. i used the led calculator and it said ...

i think it does have a seal in that area, though im not going to check that, its about 0.5 cm DIA and is in a very small cavity, with about 12 other parts the same size, with my luck i would end up loosing osmething important. I have been using, i dont have the container it came in, i think it was C...

Problem with Airbrush

Hello, Recently I have been having a problem with my Airbrush; it’s a Badger 150-4PK Pro Airbrush MD/HD. I have had it for about 3 or so years, and has worked perfectly before. I have also had it cleaned professionally multiple times. However recently when I go to paint something it pulses, instea...

I do not think that would work, it is already assembled. So I can not access the interior. And to remove the thinner sheet of styrene would probably destroy it, and would not work, because it is attacked to the rest of the model in multiple locations, some of which are in the middle, it is about 1 f...

Hello, I am working on a scratch build model and I have come across a problem. The construction of it is a triangular shape, about 2 feet long. It has 1 layer of 0.08 inch plastic, with channeling on the sides, the channels are filled with plastic, then on the other side there is a sheet of 0.06 inc...

ok, then the next question is how many volts would it be? the parts list only says 100nf ceramic. and nothing else is mentioned about it. also, do the potentiometers/variable resistors need to have a +/- 5% tolerance as well, or will it work if they have a +/- 20% tolerance?

Ok, that clarifys the 8 pin socket, and the voltage. Though i still dont know how that would fit into the diagram/schematic on the site. it doesnt show where the 8 pin socket would go. it shows it in the picture and the computer layout, just not the schematic.

ok, that looks like it could work, the ony problem that i am having is that it talks about an 8 pinn DIL socket, one which i would guess that a chip like a 4060 would go into, except that is not shown on the circuit diagram. also it uses 12 volts, do you know if there is a way it can be changed so i...

Help With Blinking LED

Hello, I am building a life sized model of a DC-15 rifle from Star wars. The plan is to have a Ultra Bright blue LED at the tip so it will illuminate like in the movies, it will be attached to a momentary push button switch. The only poblem is that it needs to blink in, i think its 0.7 second interv...
