Thanks for the replies. :) The canvas I'm trying to model is on a victorian-era looking spacecraft, so I'm wanting these to be yellowed and worn, as if they've been exposed to the direct rays of the sun for years. The sails on these ships serve as a sort of 'shield' and will have blast marks from E...

Find some evergreen stock, glue it down, and sand it down to the right height. Otherwise, to hell with the actual raised line, use the back end of your blade to engrave a new one, and draw it out with the airbrush. On the other hand, how scary can sprue stretching actually be? 1. Heat 2. Stretch to ...

I used to do vinyl figures and Warhammer 40k pieces, so I've done a lot of faces before. First, a good, smooth primer coat. Second, I prefer to hand paint faces and skin with acrylic paints, specifically Citadel brands. They're easily obtained, go on well, mix fine, and there is an amazing variety o...

I've had the Aztek brush and was happy with it, when it worked. Which wasn't often. I sent that thing back for service no less than 8 times. Eventually I gave up on it and went back to a nice Badger. Anything goes wrong with that, the parts are readily available and it's easy to service. Going on 4 ...

My vote goes for Micromark as well. Cool place. Given that it's in New Jersey, I've been able to visit a few times. Another place I'll have to post pictures of the next time I go there. Dude, if you want a sample, I've got sheets of white and clear MM decal film. I'll be happy to send you some. I've...

I've got a Badger model 200NH that has served me well for years. I've also got the Badger 350 which is great for quick and dirty stuff. I used to have a double action unit but never got the hang of it. The basic ones suit me better. Avoid the Aztek airbrush. It was a great tool when it worked, but I...
