hi, what is alcad stainless steel like?

What do you mean? What does it look like, (looks like stainless steel, very nice looking); or how does it function? (Airbrush only, gloss black base coat).

Alclad Stainless Steel looks like polished stainless steel. A step darker than chrome but just as shiney. Alclad can be hand painted but in my experience only good for touch-ups, best when used from an airbrush.

I have only sprayed it through an airbrush but I wonder how it might dry brush?

I'd guess it dries too quickly to dry brush it.

what is the hot mtal paints like, in particular violet to give me delorean vents are real tarnished metal look?

I've seen car and motorcycle guys do wonders with Alclad. I've used it for exhaust on aircraft, and on entire aircraft. Great stuff. Use in a well ventilated area...

Here is a raider I just finished with Alclad Duraluminum and magnesium on the center part. Pale burnt metal on the exhaust nozzles. The NMF is not for everyone, just wanted to do up a raider like this. Stainless steel would have been a good color too.

Is Alclad II the right thing to use on a Naboo Royal cruiser? if so what
should I try for the primer/base coat? I've got one of the older
Fantastic Plastic 1:222 resin kits.
