How do I fog/whiten clear plastic?

Got a question about techniques, materials or other aspects of physically building a model? This is the place to ask.

How do I fog/whiten clear plastic?

Post by No_6 »

I remember doing this inadvertently before by using a plastic polish. I no longer have that polish as it ruined a $125 motorcycle windshield. Any other ideas?

BTW, I am using the clear plastic end cap from a ballpoint pen as the main navigational beacon on my TOS Constellation, and I wanted it to appear white even when unlit, and am hoping that once fogged, it will help mute the rather bright LED I installed in there... :)
I am not a number.

Inadvertently is how this usually happens. :)

Hit it with a layer of Testor's Dull Coat. Nice and foggy.

If you spray it on the inside, the part will retain it's shiny outer surface, while the inside is completely frosted.
