AB question (on operation)

Post by Cvrle »

After saving up my pennies (and larger denominations), I've gotten myself a brand-spanking new Iwata Eclipse HP-CS.
It's double action, so - trigger down for air, back for paint.

Now a question - the trigger down motion isn't fluid, but when you press it, it goes rather "hard". Note - it's when trying the airbrush unconnected to an airsource - (I need a new hose, so can't connect to the compressor). I don't seem to remember this type of motion with my last double-action airbrush, so am wondering...
intent on building... but somehow i just end up collecting (full) boxes :)

Well since no one else has answered, I'd say a drop of ultra light oil on the valve will fix it.

Look in the bottom of the box, under the foam. There should be some Iwata airbrush oil in there. A little drop should cure what ails it.

Now, if I could just get the dang thing completely clear after each use, so I don't have to pull out the needle with a pair of jewelers' pliers... :gripe:

Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong to clear the thing out? I spray with either Wal-Mart brand Windex (contains ammonia and alcohol), then block the noxxle with my finger, and backflush (which usually makes a mess, even with the cap on the bowl--oops... ) until the stuff in the bowl comes clean. I still wonder what I'm doing wrong...

I always spray a bit of cleaner back in, the soap helps lube everything and keep it from sticking.

But... dunno if it'll work with windex, I use EZ-Air cleaner. Bright pink, concentrated stuff.
