Does any company make acrylic Pearlescent clear cote?

Airbrushed my Polar Lights Refit with acrylic paint....so Im scared to use the Laquer Pearlescent clear cote.... Does anyone make an acrylic pearlescent clear cote?

Liquitex makes several IIRC.

Would this work in an airbrush with 50% water? Thanks BTW ...and "Big Trouble" is one of my all time favorites !!!

You might need to thin it a bit more but I've used Liquitex interference paints on models without an issue.

Try to find Some RC websites as well---I was in a mostly R/C store a while back and they had a bunch of Acrylic Pearlescents with different bases----blue, red, green.

Just wish I could remember who made the stuff.....

House of Kolor makes dry pearl powders you can disperse into a clear medium, like a gloss coat - Future. You have to keep them shaken to ensure uniformity when using Future, though.

Ter-or ...Will it be "sparkly" or will it just have a shimmer effect? Im needing this for my final finish on the Polar Lights Enterprise Refit. I just want a shimmer like you get with the laquer pearl.

I'm going to sound a bit like a broken record, but I have finally gotten the chance to play with more of the Createx AutoAir, and the stuff is incredible. Goes on super smooth, shrinks down tight to just about any surface - including uncoated plexiglass; and comes in just about every color imaginable - including pearls and some of the finest metal flakes I have ever seen! (sprayed the aluminum base though a 5.0 needle - no clumps, no clogs, no problem)

Sorry to both hijack someone else's post AND bring a post back from the dead, but...

First of all, I wondered if Stellar_Expanse might see this post again - I was wondering about his/her results.

Second, if I were to pick between Liquitex, Pactra, and House of Kolor for a nice pearl acrylic finish, which one is the way to go? Should I get small samples of all three and just see which I like or do you think one is better than the other? House of Kolor looks very intriguing to me!

And, are there any better pearl options since several months back when this post was written?

Another resource might be to check at taxidermy supply shops. They have an excellent variety of paints and clear coats. Just a thought....
