Testors Glosscote Lacquer

Post by starmanmm »

My questions is this.... what I am talking about is the bottle stuff. According to the bottle, you need to use Testors 1159 lacquer to thin this stuff so that you can AB it.

My question is this... seeing that it is lacquer based.... couldn't I still use regular lacquer thinner to thin it for AB?

More than likely, yes. I've thinned Testors lacquers with lacquer thinner or Mr. Color Leveling Thinner but not that one in particular. [/i]

Yes, it can be thinned with lacquer thinner. I'd suggest using mineral spirits, though.

I've always just sprayed it straight out of the bottle and had no problems.

I've always cut it with regular hardware store lacquer thinner without problems. I thin it to the consistency of milk and spray away.

Great to hear.... so either regular lacquer thinner or mineral spirits and I'm good to go!

Thanks all!
