Acrylic paint

Every now and then guys mention "transparent paint". Will Tamiya let some light through? Liquitex?

Tamiya makes several 'clear' paints:
Acrylic X-27 Clear Red
Acrylic X-26 Clear Orange
Acrylic X-25 Clear Green
Acrylic X-24 Clear Yellow
Acrylic X-23 Clear Blue

They let light through, depending on how many coats you apply - more coats, less light.

Not forgetting Tamiya X-19 Smoke.
"I'd just like to say that building large smooth-skinned models should be avoided at all costs. I now see why people want to stick kit-parts all over their designs as it covers up a lot of problems." - David Sisson
