Sprayed a kitbash with Tamiya white for the base coat. Let it set for about a half hour and then sprayed it with MM lacquer flat to seal it.
I'm guessing that I did not let the base set long enough for in some places it seems that the MM attacked the paint.
I'm hoping that I can just spray the base coat over the MM and let it dry longer before I seal it.
Any thoughts?

Yes...do NOT use MM lacquer flat over it unless you are doing so in an airbrush (misting the coats on). Even if you let the Tamiya dry for a week, the MM can still eat away at the paint. I'm assuming you are using their acrylic in the bottle and not the lacquer (hot acrylic) in the rattle can.
Use an acrylic flat such as Polly Scale or even Tamiya's clear flat, if you can.

Yes, that's the same mistake I made years ago when I just finished a couple very nice aircraft and hit them with MM Lacquer Dullcoat - my first use of acrylic paints went well, but the lacquer trashed them.
PolyScale's acrylic dullcoat is now my go-to finish.

I shot some JW Etc's straight through my Eclipse HPCS, and had no problems.Kylwell wrote:You can also use JW etc's matte polyurethane. Thin it and it sprays fine.

Yeah, it's nice but needs to be thinned substantially. It airbrushes well, but don't coat too heavily or you'll have problems. They call it flat clear or something like that.
