For a long time I've wanted to strain paint before airbrushing. Micromark and other online retailers sell paint strainers but I'd like to buy locally to avoid the shipping and handling on an inexpensive item.
Where can I buy paint strainers locally? Both local Michaels never heard of them. Can anyone recommend any national chain stores that they know sell paint strainers?
Thanks,
Mike

Wug,
The ones (Autozone, auto body suppliers etc...) around here won't have fine enough mesh for the pigment size we use. Trust me, I know (my mom managed a body shop office for 20 years and she ordered me a set). I tried them before searching for nylons, and then the Micromark strainers. Your best bet, if you want to avoid using the Micromark ones, is to use nylon stockings. But, you will lose a lot of paint during the process. That's what I used until I went to the Micromark ones.
They're $15.50, plus $8.95 shipping and handling. But, if you use the nylons, you will lose more than half of your good, useable paint per session due to the absorption by the nylons.
I hope this helps.
