Blappy's 1/72 scale Samanty Systems G-88 Mk-I
Here it is so far. I did some rough sketches and gave those to a friend who is handy with solid modelling.
The G-88 MK-I Specifications:
- Power Plant: Mel-Lynn ML-4 Zero Point Engergy module.
- Output: 4.5 Gigawatts peak, 1.21 Gigawatts constant.
- Armament: Blap Industries Hypervelocity linear accelerated solid fueled steerable projectile.
- Propulsion: RAH SS-21 Electromagnetically confined Ionized air cushion capable of instant directional control in all axis of movement.

Hi Blappy
Looks very plausable due to its simplicity, and no chance of gain saying where the hull comes from as its going to be made bespoke.
Will it have crew items added to the outside ( tools, crew hand grips, stowage racks for tarps) or is everything under armour to keep its stream line / stealthy charctersitics?
Nice.

look sir.............Droids
Everything that can be damaged (hatches, vents, stowage) will be hidden within the recessed top and bottom.
It will be very shiny and metallic all over. With all the steep angles enemy shells will glance off and beam type energy weapons with be dealt with using a high heat transfer active cooling system.

I took an appropriate thickness slice off one of my bricks of ButterBoard tooling board yesterday.
Here is a video.

Did I mention this model will be 1/72 scale? I'll update the title.
I had the idea to maybe make a mold and cast this. Would anyone care to have a copy of this tank?

Last update for a while. Work obligations will put a hold on this for a week or two.
I cut a smaller piece from the slab I made yesterday. Here I am sanding it square on all planes.
http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg15 ... ing_01.jpg
The squared block with templates leaning against it.
http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg15 ... ock_01.jpg
Next I will cut it into sections and remove the centre piece. I will cut it thinner and put it back in then sand my angles. After that I will add my 45 degree bevelled parts to the inside edges.
I hope I can paint this stuff! I better go read up about that. If not I have to cast it in resin so I can paint it.

If that board is anything like the modeling board im using there is a way to do it.
Spray it with a good filling primer or thinned bondo glazing putty. Then sand and repeat until you have a good smooth finish.

The surface finish on this stuff is like styrene. It is pretty soft material but that's not a problem. I looked for this stuff for a while before I found it. two 6"x12"x12" pieces cost about $300.00 and I got a deal because I got a damaged piece. Renshape and similar stuff had a really annoying surface porosity and did not scribe well. This Butter Board scribes like... well.... I have still not had any time to do any work on mine. Maybe next week.
I need to finish a P-51D as a gift before anything else.
Then the Thunder Fighter pattern....
The the next round of molds for customers....
Og and what about the FDL-6's and Rocketship Friede...

I'm just saying "hypervelocity" AND "steerable" is quite the engineering feat.Blappy wrote:

Nope.
I am swamped with work for Wonderfest so it got boxed and shelved until further notice.
