Hi
Was wondering if swabbing some paint acylic off (that's laying over a coat of Future) with 91% alcohol will also strip off the Future?
Maybe rubbing alcohol instead?
Thanks
Will 91% Alcohol cut thru a coat of Future?

It will remove acrylic paint that you get from a craft store completly but as for MM paints not so much your best bet may be to soakit in some simple green for about a week or 2, the longer you soak it the better chance you have of getting the paint off completly. Simple green is best for clear pieces as it will not mess up the plastic as bad as say pine-sol.
Normal?? What is normal??

91-percent alcohol is isopropyl alcohol. Rubbing alcohol is 70-percent isopropyl alcohol. Both, will attack just about all acrylic paints and got right into the Furutre below; they will frost the Future below it.
How much paint are you talking? If it's not much, get thee to Wal-Mart and pick up a nail polishing kit for less than $2.00 and gently polish off the offending paint. USe it wet and in the order of grits specified; it's a little double-ended stick. Places where you polish through can be airbrushed back pretty easily.
If it's a larger area and you really want to swab, try a bit of Windex on a cotton swab. It will take forever, but it's easier to control as the ethylene glycol with a bit of Ammonia in Windex will soften the paint as you buff and "blend" it. Again, you can buff through the Future too, but it takes longer to get to that point. I use this method to correct the rare Future run I miss or to fill gaps with thickened Future and buff them smooth
I hope this helps.

Try polishing it off with toothpaste or rubbing compound, it it isn't that much on there.deepcore wrote:Hi
