Painting and lighting and preventing light from escaping

Post by jubylives »

I'm going to add surface mount LEDs to a enterprise model. I'm attaching them straight to the surface of the inside of the model or plan to. I also plan on several coats of black on the inside and the usual numerous coats of paint outside. The light from the LEDs do bleed through the plastic some and I do not want this to happen. Will what I am planning with the paint stop the bleeding through the plastic? Here's what I am doing:

Thanks for any thoughts.

Paint it first and then put your led to the kit and that will show you if it will work. Remember to do the edge of the hole also.
