Mr. Surfacer discontinued?
Hi
Is Mr. Surfacer off the market?
Local hobby shop says they think so (can't get any restocked).
Been in need of the 500.
Thanks

It's a general purpose primer used for all kinds of stuff. For cars, it's made to be used over self-etching primers to fill minor imperfections. In other applications, like industrial settings, it's used for industrial model priming and OEM flaw corrections.deepcore wrote:REally?
Cool.
Is DuPont 131S an auto primer?

Call up Neil Huffman's Body Shop on Dixie and ask them where they order theirs from. I had them order me some about five years ago when a member of the family worked there. It is sold in quarts and gallons and even 55 gallon drums (you'll need a mixer!). I bought a quart. You may be able to get it from O'Reilly's too.sci-fi-bldr wrote:Kenny........where do you get this primer at?...
Is it lacquer based??
It's a lacquer dissolved in "hot" solvents (xylene, toluene, etc...). It's the good stuff. I ordered it after reading an article by Dave Merriman.
I hope this helps.

What LHS in Denver Metro has DuPont 131?
I'm hoping you can point me at the shop where you're getting this - I see from your profile you're in the Denver area... I'm trying to find a local source of this primer. Thanks a long ton in advance!

Last I knew you could get "Fill-n-Sand" at auto parts stores, which is similar to 500 liquid.
Spray-cans are the harder thing to find, I buy them when I see them.
Shipping hazardous materials is a pain, the distributors can't do it as easily as they used to.
