I'm looking to dive into fiber optic lighting.
How do you terminate the line on a panel?
What glue do you use to secure the lead to the panel?
Can you run multiple leads of different colors in the same bundle?
How do you secure the bundles?

Do you use side cutting snippers, scissors, or just a hobby knife?Delorean Man wrote:How do you terminate the line on a panel? Leave it longer and trim as a final step after paint, but before decaling if applicable.

Depending on the scale, construction order and the effect you're going for, you can also "mushroom" the end of the fiber before inserting it. Just hold the tip of the fiber close to BUT NOT TOUCHING a flame or heat source. The end will melt into a basic lens shape. You can then thread the fiber down through the front of your part and it should "catch" when the mushroomed end gets to the part surface. Then just apply glue to the back side of the part to hold the fiber in place.

Was wondering what the best way to bore the hole to terminate the fibre end is? I have a hobby drill.
I'm doing the Falcon Grav Tank kit and it has raised buttons so I'm concerned as to how to get the optics to look good
