Testors Metalizers help...

Post by JadenCleodesKorr »

I am currently working on a Naboo N-1 starfighter and was looking for advice for working with metalizer paints to do the chrome finish. Can anyone help? :D :D

Primarily what color I need and if it needs primer and how should I go about buffing it.

If you're going with chrome I'd suggest either AlcadII or SpazStix chrome if you have an airbrush.

If you've got no other choice than the Metalizer line I'd suggest the Aluminum Plate or Stainless Steel both in buffable paint. I use a soft no-lint cloth to buff with. Old 100% cotton tee-shirt will work.

Prime with gloss black for maximum reflection and make sure the finish is as flawless as you can make it.

Thanks so much I got the paint today and already stripped the original finish. I can't wait to get this started.

Make sure the finish is absolutley smooth like kylwell said. Metalizers will show every surface imperfection no matter how small.
