help with wiring

i am fairly soon about to embark upon a 1/350 polar lights refit, and i am intending to light it, just want to ask something, should i use series or paralell wiring? i recently completed a fully lit revell voyager, and i used paralell wiring for that, but if you asked me it used far to much wire, ( unless i was doing something wrong), all leds & tubes had there own wires going directly to the power source. The thing is, i dont know how to wire in series, could somebody direct me to a simple schematic of how it works please, i would be greatful, thanks.
