I would like for Sparky, Tetsujin, et al. to look at this thing and give an opinion on whether it will work for the blinking anti-collision lights on the various Enterprises.
By all means, set me straight or steer me toward something you think will work better. (i think i may have been resistant to advice before, but i'm all better now)
Thanks Don, that helps a lot. A 50/50 duty cycle is fine with me, I'm only trying to approximate the blinking effect. I'll do a separate circuit for the warp engines, etc.. I'll try this on the 1/1400 scale Enterprise E and see how it works out. It looks like it might be up-scalable to do the blinkers in the 1/350 Refit.
BRT, thanks for turning me on to Tenacontrols. I didn't know they existed, and they have many drool-worthy items!
I would be remiss if I didn't mention that Don here has cooked up quite a few cool products of his own over the years, and is hereby authorized to go ahead with his bad self.
My "Bad Self" electronics mission statement is still Old School
All my stuff is High School or Freshman 101 Industrial Arts level (If you took IA back in the 70's - 80's.) Still hand etched in my kitchen sink. Kit parts come to me overnight from Digi-Key in Minnesota.
After my boards is etched, cut to size, anybody with ordinary modeling skills can take it from there... read english, follow diagrams, drill holes, place parts and solder. And then also the builder has a lot of latitude on how to deploy it on their model.
