Creating a fader

Post by Matty1973 »

Can anyone help me please with this question

I want to create a light setup for a kit i am going to start, what i want it to do is when i flick the switch circuit A and B turn on, but then i want a secondary switch that when i flick it circuit B fades out and Circuit C lights up and A stays on all the time.

Pretty much like the Light kit that TM does for the PL 1/350 enterprise, but not for that build

Any ideas or rough diagrams???

Please

A microcontroller is just about the best way to do that. Arduino has a great line of them. Cheap too, and their forums are very friendly to newcomers looking for learning how to program them.

I know, it sounds scary. But it really is the best way to do what you're wanting to do.

Ok, I think I have the words right now

A 3 way switch required

Off-On 1-On 2, if wired correctly circuit 1 can be wired to both On states, but circuit 2 would be only wired to On 1 and circuit 3 wired to On 2 that way when I switch from 1 to 2 circuit 2 would cut out and circuit 3 would kick in, correct ?

If yes is there a special name for a switch that would do that?

Wow! I just posted on your YouTube page, thats really nice work.

I've done lots of lightup projects but it seems you've done even more and made a passion of it. Thanks for sharing!
